Moving On to a New Adventure

It’s been almost a year since I had posted anything here. After almost eight years of working independently as a fitness professional, I feel that it is time to move on to something — different. Something that very few people are doing in the health and fitness field.

Bruce Lee once said, “Research your own experience; absorb what is useful, reject what is useless, and add what is essentially your own.”

Illustrator unknown.

With the prevalence of many forms for exercise programs based on recycled or “rediscovered” philosophies, why should I copy what someone else is doing and hop on the bandwagon? CrossFit, P90X, MovNat, Russian Kettlebell Challenge, UFC, Ginastica Natural, etc. Although I personally enjoy the variety and benefits that each system offers, they are not mine. I didn’t invent them or repackage or redesign them. The last thing I want to do is to become one of them.

A good friend of mine on Facebook, Ryan Crandall of 3D Yoga from Albuquerque, New Mexico, had created and evolved his own technique by combining the traditions and values of yoga and incorporate it with Gary Gray’s teachings and HIS own interpretation and experiences.

Here’s a sample of one of his works.

SPE Performance will be setting by June 1, 2013. Before that day, I will be starting something different — not new — blending several practices and philosophies together. For every ending, there is always a beginning.

So keep moving, keep dancing, keep laughing.

At your service,

Nick Ng
